The antibiotic reality
Often children get ear infections so parents being the caring & anxious parents that they are, run to the pediatrician for antibiotics. Most of the time however the cause of the infection is viral: so antibiotics do nothing for the aching infant. What I mean is that antibiotics are only useful in the case of a microbial infection. Pediatricians are warned and urged not to readily prescribe antiobiotics because in the long run superbugs are created which resist antibiotic treatment. What is really happening ?
With the antibiotics, we are simply killing the good and the bad bacteria that exist in the body. So the body will have a weaker immunity to fight the next infection.
Mechanics of chiropractic
If you have noticed, often an ear infection is preceeded by a stuffy nose. The stuffy nose comes because the sinuses are simply not draining. There is a blockage somewhere. As the sinuses do not drain the fluid starts to accumulate and creates a very attractive environment for bacteria to proliferate. That fluid turns into pus, and since the ears are directly connected to the sinuses by the eustachian tube they, in turn become infected.

With chiropractic medicine, we very gently massage the sinuses and the lymph nodes running along each side of the neck which will stimulate drainage. We will also with the tips of our index finger, manipulate the back of the skull and the first vertebrae to mobilize drainage. It is a very gentle and safe procedure. There is no pain involved at all. And no meds needed !
